SUPER MEGA BRIDE

   No king, no wedding.

SUPER MEGA BRIDE is a full homebrew NES game.

The King has been kidnapped. The Prince, your future husband, sends you to find his father. Fight off waves of enemies across four biomes, place crystals to protect yourself, earn your super shot, and climb toward one simple question: do I really need any of this?

Fight plan

Place crystals. Bait enemies into them. Survive long enough to crawl further.
Read the terrain. Enemies reshape the floor and leave puddles with different effects you need to avoid.
Stack power. Run perks reset on death; essence buys permanent upgrades between attempts.

I created this game as a stress test for what the NES can do: I wanted to cram as many systems as possible into the ROM to make the gameplay feel dense and exciting. Enemies, projectiles, crystals, NPC logic, map generation, CHR banks, UI, music hooks, a branching ending, and 4 bosses - all of it in pursuit of an "AAA game" for 1983 hardware

Built in pure 6502 assembly, without tools like NESmaker or other game-making engines, to push the NES hardware as hard as possible.

Cartridge facts

768 KB MMC3 ROM: 512 KB PRG + 256 KB CHR.
Hand-written 6502 assembly: combat, enemy behavior, NPC logic, UI, music hooks, cartridge banking, and integration work.
4 biomes and 80(?) levels.
15 enemy types and 5 bosses: dashers, ghosts, burst shooters, puddle spawners, and custom CHR-bank boss phases.
15 NPCs: choice trees use custom bytecodes so characters react to your run state.
